Mother of Resilience is a tribute to my late mother, whose strength shaped my life after my father's sudden passing when I was fourteen. Watching her carry the weight of raising our family inspired my resilience, values, and artistic journey. Created from memory and gratitude, this painting uses a strained posture, sweat, and heavy containers to symbolize the unseen burdens borne with courage. It honors not only my mother but also every virtuous woman whose sacrifice, endurance, and unwavering love continue to uplift families, communities, and future generations.
The motivation behind Mother of Resilience comes from my personal experience of witnessing my mother's extraordinary strength after my father's sudden death. At just fourteen years old, I watched her carry the entire responsibility of raising our family without the support that had been promised. This artwork was created to honor her sacrifices, preserve her legacy, and celebrate the quiet resilience of parents who bear life's heaviest burdens with unwavering love.
