This piece is a reflection on what it means to remain connected to the true source of life. Inspired by the image of the vine and branches, the painting explores the idea that growth, fruitfulness, and blooming are not self-generated, but sustained through connection. This painting reflects that blooming is not the result of striving, but of abiding. The more deeply the branches remain in the vine, the more naturally they grow, bear fruit, and thrive. There is a quiet strength in that connection—a steady, sustaining presence that nourishes from where life is truly rooted.
The motivation behind Abide in the Vine came from a deep reflection on the nature of growth and what it truly means to live a fruitful life. In a world that constantly emphasizes striving, productivity, and self-effort, I found myself questioning whether growth was ever meant to come from pressure or performance. This led me back to the image of the vine and branches—a simple yet profound reminder that life is not sustained by striving, but by connection.
I began to understand that just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own, we cannot truly flourish apart from our source. Growth, fruitfulness, and blooming are not things we manufacture; they are the natural result of remaining connected. This shifted my perspective from doing to dwelling, from forcing outcomes to trusting the process of abiding.
Through this piece, I wanted to capture the quiet strength and beauty found in that connection. The vine represents a steady, life-giving presence—one that nourishes from within and sustains everything attached to it. It reflects a kind of growth that is not rushed or forced, but organic, intentional, and full.
Abide in the Vine is both a reflection and an invitation. It calls the viewer to consider where they are rooted, and to return to a place of connection where life flows naturally. Because in that place, growth is not something we struggle to achieve—it becomes inevitable.
This is where we bloom.
