Responsibility tells the story of a woman carrying her child on her back while balancing a bundle of firewood on her head. It reflects the everyday sacrifices women make to care for their families, often carrying more than the world can see. I chose firewood because it is natural, simple, and deeply connected to everyday life. By using it to create this work, I wanted to tell a familiar story through the very material that reflects the lives of many people. This piece is a tribute to the strength, love, and silent sacrifices of women who keep going, even when the weight they carry is heavy.
I was inspired by the daily struggles and sacrifices of women who carry their children while providing for their families. I chose natural firewood to tell this familiar story in an authentic way. Through this work, I celebrate the strength, love, and silent sacrifices of mothers who keep going despite life's burdens.
