The Ones Who Move Us is a fine art photograph that explores the unseen labour behind every journey. Two men share a boat, each playing a different role in moving forward. Through the contrast between the standing figure and the one rowing, the work reflects on collaboration, sacrifice, and the people whose quiet contributions make progress possible.
Motivation Story
The Ones Who Move Us was born from a simple observation: every visible achievement often has an invisible story of support behind it.
I began thinking about the people who help us move forward but are rarely acknowledged—the ones who carry, support, sacrifice, encourage, provide, or quietly do the work that makes another person’s journey possible.
The boat became a metaphor for life. The two men are travelling in the same direction, but they are not performing the same function. One stands while the other rows. Yet neither role makes the journey complete on its own.
The work is therefore a reflection on interdependence, unseen labour, and the dignity of contribution. It asks us to look beyond the person we see moving forward and consider the people whose hands may be quietly making that movement possible.
Some people steer. Some people row. Some are seen, others are overlooked—but every journey is moved by someone.
