Subtle is my meditation on the quiet existence of women—an existence that does not announce itself, yet refuses to disappear or cease making an impact. It speaks of women as intercessors: the unseen doors that bridge the supernatural and the physical, the silent passage through which balance, healing, and continuity flow. Women are impossibly beautiful souls—too profound to ignore—yet they often move without noise. In their stillness, they shift weight, alter outcomes, and move mountains within society, not through force, but through presence.

Subtle is inspired by my meditation on the quiet existence of women—their unseen labour, presence, and ability to influence outcomes without demanding attention. The series explores women as intercessors, bridges between the physical and spiritual, through which healing, balance, and continuity flow.

My theme is quiet feminine power, challenging the belief that strength must always be loud. I use acrylic and my signature interlocking geometric forms to construct the female figure, allowing fragmented shapes to speak of memory, experience, identity, and the many layers of womanhood.

Emotionally, the works carry calmness, elegance, grace, and quiet confidence. My references come from African women, Yoruba cultural and spiritual understanding, everyday observations, and my personal reflections on feminine beauty and resilience. The process is deliberate and patient, reflecting my belief that what endures is rarely rushed.
