Mud Box

Artwork story

_“Mud Box”_ is a monumental portrait of duality, exchange, and the ancient dialogue between earth, sky, and human experience. Two sculptural figures stand in profile, facing one another against a vast desert landscape. Rendered in layered charcoal and muted earth tones, their bodies are solid and timeless — like statues carved from clay or stone. They are adorned with minimal, symbolic ornament: a red, yellow, and white beaded armband with a cowrie shell on the left figure, and a bold red and gold beaded necklace on the right.

Duality, balance, ancestry, desert culture, cosmology, exchange, tradition, adornment, pilgrimage, and the human body as vessel.
