_“Uto”_ is a contemplative portrait of ancestry, guardianship, and the sacredness of home. At the center sits a monumental, ash-toned figure rendered in layered paint and charcoal. The body is still, grounded, and sculptural — evoking both elder and earth. Draped around the waist is a soft pink cloth, a quiet contrast to the otherwise muted palette. Crowning the figure is Jaece’s signature large, triangular headdress, painted in bold strokes of red, yellow, and green. It reads like fire and foliage at once — a symbol of life force, spiritual authority, and cultural identity.
Ancestry, guardianship, memory, home, spirituality, tradition, cultural continuity, and the dignity of the everyday.
