Growing up in Oshodi, Lagos, childhood was never defined by what we had, but by how we found joy in the little things. This painting, Memories, is a reflection of those moments days spent running through the streets, carrying worn-out slippers, creating games from imagination, and finding freedom in simplicity. For me, this work is more than a portrait; it is a tribute to the innocence, and creativity that shaped my early years. It reminds me that some of our most valuable memories are born from ordinary moments that stay
As I painted this piece, I found myself revisiting those streets, those friendships, and that feeling of possibility that seemed endless.
What childhood memory still stays with you today?
