Self Portrait Medium: Charcoal (Digital) Surface: Digital Paper (not canvas) My first hyper-realistic and photorealistic digital artwork. Created entirely on a digital application using a medium charcoal brush, this piece explores the possibility of achieving the depth, texture, and realism traditionally associated with charcoal on paper. Drawn on digital paper rather than a canvas texture, it marks the beginning of my journey in pushing the boundaries of digital realism while preserving the authentic feel of traditional charcoal drawing.
What Inspired Me?
The desire to grow.
I wanted to prove to myself that my creativity was not limited to traditional paper, but could also flourish in the digital space. My goal was to show the world that hyper-realistic and photorealistic art is possible even on a platform that many consider less flexible and full of limitations.
Every medium has its strengths and shortcomings. Rather than allowing those limitations to define my work, I chose to confront them with diligence, self-discipline, consistency, and determination.
Ordinarily, people can quickly tell when an artwork is created digitally. My pursuit, however, has been to change that narrative—to push the boundaries until the digital medium becomes almost indistinguishable from traditional charcoal on paper.
This self-portrait represents more than my first hyper-realistic and photorealistic digital artwork. It is a testament to perseverance, continuous learning, and the belief that excellence is achieved not by the tools we use, but by the dedication with which we use them.
