THE RESCUE MISSION

Artwork story

"The Rescue Mission" is an oil painting measuring 24 by 30 inches, created in 2026. This work visually interprets biblical verses that explore the significance of Christ's death and the triumph of Christians. It draws inspiration from Revelation 1:18, 1 Corinthians 15:55-57, and Colossians 2:15.

"The Rescue Mission" examines the critical hours between the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. While many narratives emphasize the crucifixion and the resurrection, this work focuses on the often-ignored period in between. It portrays the devil reveling in his perceived victory, only to discover Christ awaiting him in hell. In this realm, Jesus disarmed principalities, made a public spectacle of them, reclaimed the keys of Hades, and triumphed over death, liberating the souls trapped within. His resurrection signifies our own, freeing us from the bondage of sin and death.
