Artwork story

I create contemporary African art that incorporates elements of neo-expressionism and abstraction. My work is primarily executed in acrylic paint on canvas, exploring themes of identity and culture. Through vibrant colors and dynamic forms, I aim to provoke thought and evoke emotion, inviting viewers to engage with the complexities of the African experience. My artistic practice reflects a commitment to innovation and a deep respect for tradition, bridging past and present in a dialogue that resonates universally.

This painting draws inspiration from my childhood memories of cleaning the house with my siblings on Saturday mornings. We transformed ordinary objects into instruments, using buckets as drums and utensils like forks as microphones, creating our own band. This joyful experience reflects the creativity and playfulness of childhood, capturing the essence of collaboration and imagination. Through this work, I aim to evoke nostalgia and highlight the simple pleasures found in everyday activities. The painting serves as a tribute to those moments of unity and joy, reminding us of the importance of creativity in our lives
