"girl with the accordion"

Artwork story

"girl with the accordion" 2024 acrylic & charcoal on canvas 35x39"

During a visit to my uncle in Lagos, I encountered a talented female accordion player. Her melodies were captivating, inspiring me to translate that experience onto canvas. This work reflects the vibrant energy of her performance and the cultural richness of the moment. Through my brush, I aim to convey the emotions and atmosphere that her music evoked, creating a visual representation of sound and rhythm. My art seeks to bridge the gap between auditory and visual experiences, inviting viewers to engage with the essence of the scene.
