In Morning Rose, I explore the quiet intersection of human vulnerability and natural resilience. This 36x40 inch acrylic work depicts a figure in a moment of tranquil reflection, gazing toward the soft, filtered light of a new day. The composition is anchored by a single, vibrant red rose in the foreground, serving as a powerful counterpoint to the subject’s thoughtful posture. Through a deliberate play of shadow and nascent morning light, the piece functions as a meditation on the beauty that flourishes when we embrace the present moment.

This was my very first acrylic painting on canvas, and I wanted to create a visual sanctuary—a serene invitation to embrace the daily ritual of awakening and to find beauty even when life feels challenging.

I wanted to capture that precise, fleeting moment of quiet reflection before the world rushes in, where one can sit in "calm anticipation" of what the day might bring.

The inclusion of the single, vibrant red rose in the foreground was a deeply personal choice.

To me, the rose is more than just a floral subject; it is a "powerful symbol" of our own journeys. Just as a rose possesses thorns to protect its delicate petals, I wanted to remind the viewer—and myself—that true appreciation and profound beauty often emerge only after we have navigated difficult paths.

The thorns do not diminish the flower; they are an integral part of its resilience.

On this large 36x40 inch canvas, I used the soft light filtering through the window to suggest "new beginnings". I worked meticulously to ensure this light illuminated both the figure’s thoughtful posture and the "enduring allure" of the bloom, linking human experience with the natural world.

My goal was to create a "meditation on resilience," encouraging whoever stands before the painting to find solace in contemplation and to recognize that the most exquisite parts of ourselves often flourish amongst the thorns of our personal journeys.
