"Aka Ọrụ" (Handwork), is a 4 by 5 ft. realistic acrylic painting of a labourer's hand. Each stroke, masterful serves as a TRIBUTE to the dedication, patience, and resilience that keep humanity alive. Imagine a world without Aka Ọrụ, The hands that build, fix, shape, and create. The carpenters, engineers, artists, scientists, designers, and countless others whose SKILL and SWEAT make life BEAUTIFUL. That world would be too dull to live in. With great attention to details and depth, each stroke in Aka Ọrụ celebrates every hardworking soul who keeps showing up, no matter what.
In a world of AI and Robots that are fast replacing human labour, it's easy to forget that we came this far because of humans who chose to work with their hands.
I chose to tell this beautiful story with my brushes so I can look back at those hands that built our world.
Many of them aren't in boardrooms.
In fact,
They're seldom the richest amongst us.
Yet,
If they didn't do what they did wholeheartedly,
We wouldn't be here today.
This is for them and everyone else who believes that we have evolved, will keep evolving and will ever standout of species because of our human dedication to hard and meaningful work.
