About the Artist
Full name: Abraham Adewole Artist name: Abraham Adewole
I’m Abraham Adewole, a contemporary Nigerian artist. No. 1 Wood Garbage and Regeneration Artist..…
My work responds to deforestation and the increasing heat in our environment, drawing attention to our dependence on trees and our responsibility to regenerate what we take from nature.
I study Art, Design and Printing Technology from The Polytechnic of Ibadan, Nigeria. As the son of a carpenter, my early relationship with wood continues to influence my artistic practice.
I work with discarded furniture, sawmill offcuts, and reclaimed wood, transforming materials that might otherwise be thrown away or burned into contemporary artworks. I turn what many people call wood garbage into gold, giving discarded materials a second life while communicating my message of regeneration.
My work has been featured in Bold Journey Magazine, The System Magazine, Saatchi Art, and Joue La Belle, and covered by Arise News, Channels TV ArtHouse, ThisDay Live, and Independent Newspaper. I was also part of a mural residency guided by Eyitayo Alagbe at KAP Film Village.
I am committed to directing 20% of the value from every artwork sold toward tree planting and environmental regeneration.
Reclaimed wood is my material. Regeneration is my message.
Artist statement: Reclaimed wood is my material. Regeneration is my message. I transform discarded wood and old furniture into art, turning garbage into gold. Inspired by deforestation, my practice promotes responsible wood use and tree planting. I commit 20% of every artwork sale to regenerating the trees we depend
